This is more of a reminder to myself to come back and elaborate later. I went to hear Jonathon Kozol speak tonight at the Kimball, as a requirement for Educ 310. He was an amazing speaker and I want to share what he said with my own commentary, but not tonight. So, I'll update soon on his lecture!
Be all that you can be. Find your future--as a teacher.
Musings of a second-year teacher.

Sheryl, I had the good fortune to read parts of Kozol's Savage Inequalities 15 years ago when I was in college. The lessons of his book have stayed with me through all these years and challenged me. They have kept me from blaiming the victims for not pulling themselves out of poverty and underachievement. I hope his lecture serves you as well. I commend you for attending it.
