Musings of a second-year teacher.
Since I figured summer would be slower-paced than the school year, I've signed up to take the VRA and Praxis this summer. From what I've heard, the tests aren't too rigorous, but I still want to prepare. Any suggestions for studying/etc for these tests?

Musings of a second-year teacher.
I have completed my first year as a Kindergarten teacher and I am now making my way through year two! This blog was originally started to fufill a requirement for a technology class, but I've somehow managed to maintain it by adding a new entry every six months or so. On my to-do list of things (now that I'm slowly getting things under control as I wrap up my first year of teaching)is to update this blog more frequently. I value this form of communication because of the anonymity it provides, which allows me to speak freely about circumstances within my classroom. It also serves as a way to seek advice from others.

I don't know which praxis test you will be taking, but I know that for the one I took, my professors advised me to not study, and to just do my best. (Though if it is a subject matter test, I suppose you should make sure you know your subject matter.) I haven't gotten the score back yet, but I felt pretty confident upon leaving the testing center. The only "studying" I did was checking a (fairly old) study guide out of the library and taking one practice test (which was much more difficult than the actually test ended up being).
